SCOPE​
  • DALIN Journal accepts research (i.e., classroom-based/ best practice research, empirical research), articles (i.e., commentary, monograph, reflexivity), critiques (i.e., book review, literary criticism), and creative works (limited to poetry, flash fiction, short fiction, and comics). The language of the manuscript/ contribution may be in English, Filipino, or other Philippine languages (with an abstract written in English).

MULTIPHASE SUBMISSION AND REVIEW PROCESS (MSRP)

DALIN Journal conducts the rigorous Multiphase Submission and Review Process (MSRP) as described below:

  1. DALIN Journal follows the reference style and format of APA 7th edition. 

  2. Writing in the first or third person for an article, research, and review is allowed, provided that consistency throughout the paper is maintained. For creative works, the author can freely choose their point of view.

TYPES OF CONTRIBUTION

1. Article

It pertains to writings that are commentary [argumentative], monograph [expository], or reflexivity. The prescribed length of an article is 2,000 to 6,000 words. 

 

2. Research 

It refers to an empirical paper with the following parts: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Discussions. The submission could either be qualitative-literary, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research. The prescribed length of a research paper is 2,000 to 6,000 words, and the best practice is 2,000 to 6,000 words.

 

3. Critique

It includes book reviews and literary criticism of local or foreign works. The prescribed length of a critique is 1,000-2,500 words.

 

4. Creative Works 

They are original creative writings, including the prescribed length of creative works are Poetry – one up to four (if submitting a series); Flash fiction – 50 to 1,000 words; Short fiction – about 7,500 words; Comics – 1-3 pages.
